If you would like to know the REAL story about oil and its future in the world then you should definitely watch a great documentary called A Crude Awakening. This well produced, incredibly informative movie explains the severity of the world’s oil supply, demand and what it means to you and me. The movie is an “instant play” on Netflix and can be rented on iTunes or anywhere else DVDs are sold and rented. The trailer is posted below.

The failure by Barack Obama to chart another course in the Middle East, to defy the Israel lobby and to denounce the Bush administration’s inexorable march toward a conflict with Iran is a failure to challenge the collective insanity that has gripped the political leadership in the United States and Israel.

Obama, in a miscalculation that will have grave consequences, has given his blessing to the widening circle of violence and abuse of the Palestinians by Israel and, most dangerously, to those in the Bush White House and Jerusalem now plotting a war against Iran. He illustrates how the lust for power is morally corrosive. And while he may win the White House, by the time he takes power he will be trapped in George Bush’s alternative reality.

We need to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan. We need to stay the hand of Israel, which is building more settlements-including a new plan to put 800 housing units in occupied East Jerusalem-and imposing draconian measures to physically break the 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza. We need, most of all, to prevent a war with Iran.

House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers, in a letter to President Bush on May 8, threatened to open impeachment proceedings if Bush attacked Iran. The letter is a signal that planning for strikes on Iran is under way and pronounced.

The Senate failed to move S. 3044, the Consumer-First Energy Act of 2008 forward which would  reverse the billions of dollars of corporate welfare giveaways to big oil. It’s pretty simple really. You are either in favor of giving billions of dollars of our money to big oil giveaways or you’re not. Below is a list of senators which indicts whose side they’re on. Please take 5 minutes to contract your senator and tell them what you think. A 3/5 vote was needed.

Baghdad: A proposed Iraqi-American security agreement will include permanent American bases in the country, and the right for the United States to strike, from within Iraqi territory, any country it considers a threat to its national security, Gulf News has learned.

Senior Iraqi military sources have told Gulf News that the long-term controversial agreement is likely to include three major items.

Under the agreement, Iraqi security institutions such as Defence, Interior and National Security ministries, as well as armament contracts, will be under American supervision for ten years.

The agreement is also likely to give American forces permanent military bases in the country, as well as the right to move against any country considered to be a threat against world stability or acting against Iraqi or American interests.

The military source added, “According to this agreement, the American forces will keep permanent military bases on Iraqi territory, and these will include Al Asad Military base in the Baghdadi area close to the Syrian border, Balad military base in northern Baghdad close to Iran, Habbaniyah base close to the town of Fallujah and the Ali Bin Abi Talib military base in the southern province of Nasiriyah close to the Iranian border.”

The sources confirmed that the American army is in the process of completing the building of the military facilities and runways for the permanent bases.

He added that the American air bases in Kirkuk and Mosul will be kept for no longer than three years. However, he said there were efforts by the Americans to include the Kirkuk base in the list of permanent bases.

The sources also said that a British brigade was expected to remain at the international airport in Basra for ten years as long as the American troops stayed in the permanent bases in Iraq.

Iraqi analysts said that the second item of the controversial agreement which permits American forces on Iraqi territories to launch military attacks against any country it considers a threat is addressed primarily to Iran and Syria.

Iran has raised serious concerns in the past few days over the Iraqi-American security agreement and followed it with issuing religious fatwas and called for demonstrations, mainly by the powerful Shiite leader Moqtada Al Sadr movement, who is close to Iran, against the agreement.

Here is a great compilation video of McCain’s pitiful speech in Louisiana the night Obama won the primary and the network commentary of it.   To be completely honest I find it sad. I am actually embarrassed for him. Remember when Bush ran in 2000 and all the trouble he had pronouncing words and fumbling his speeches and all the right-wing pundits said it was no big deal and that it was a petty attack? Well? How’d that turn out for us? Anyone? I would guess if you’re not much of a communicator to begin with you probably wouldn’t do so well with foreign relations either. Luckily for McCain he doesn’t believe in speaking to other counties anyway.

Ok, I don’t care whose side you’re on Hillary screwed up big time. When giving reasons why you feel you should still be in the race you probably shouldn’t mention the potential of your black opponent being assassinated. I agree that she was simply pointing out examples in history of securing the Democratic presidential nomination until June. Her fist example is of her husband not securing the nomination until June. Which is a bit misleading since that year they still had a significant amount of primaries left in June, as they didn’t start that year until late February. She then pointed out that in June of 1968 Robert Kennedy (who was winning) was assassinated therefore leaving the front-runners spot open.  What a completely stupid thing to say.

If you haven’t read Ron Paul’s new book “The Revolution” I highly recommend it. It’s a very quick and easy to follow book that will really open your eyes if your not already familiar with Paul’s positions.

To be honest I really don’t know anything about this organization but the video is great. Not long ago Bush said if we want to avoid World War III we better keep Iran from having nuclear capability. Luckily very soon after the National Intelligence Estimate report was released stating Iran had abandon any nuclear weapons programs it had in 2003. Also, the American people have woken up enough since 2003 to realize the little scam they were trying pull on us. However, we can be sure that they will take another shot at it again before he leaves at the end of the year. I would be surprised if he went ahead and did it just before November 4th and declares Martial Law and postpones the election but hopefully if enough people learn about what is shown in this short video we can call them out in time.

Again I only vouch for the quality of the video, not the organization so please look into it if you are interested.

Today, more than 23,000 representatives of private industry are working quietly with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The members of this rapidly growing group, called InfraGard, receive secret warnings of terrorist threats before the public does—and, at least on one occasion, before elected officials. In return, they provide information to the government, which alarms the ACLU. But there may be more to it than that. One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to “shoot to kill” in the event of martial law.

InfraGard is “a child of the FBI,” says Michael Hershman, the chairman of the advisory board of the InfraGard National Members Alliance and CEO of the Fairfax Group, an international consulting firm.

InfraGard started in Cleveland back in 1996, when the private sector there cooperated with the FBI to investigate cyber threats.

“Then the FBI cloned it,” says Phyllis Schneck, chairman of the board of directors of the InfraGard National Members Alliance, and the prime mover behind the growth of InfraGard over the last several years.

InfraGard itself is still an FBI operation, with FBI agents in each state overseeing the local InfraGard chapters. (There are now eighty-six of them.) The alliance is a nonprofit organization of private sector InfraGard members.
